Weekly Roundup - Chicago Events

Weekly Roundup

Chicago Events September 18-September 23

Hello Monday! We’ve got great news….. Guess what’s back! Our Weekly Roundup. We are FINALLY bringing it back and making it better than EVER! It’s about time…. yes, it’s time again for the Weekly Roundup – our favorite upcoming Chicago events. You can also view the full month’s events by clicking the calendar link at the top of our menu bar.

Here’s a quick rundown of what our Weekly Roundup entails and some details on how we are improving it. Every Monday, I will post a list of events happening throughout the week on Now You Know. Quickly find it by clicking the Weekly Roundup at the top of our homepage. I will also be including it in our email blasts so be sure to subscribe to NYK and never miss a beat or an event again!

So what’s new? I will also be adding some personal recommendations and reviews after the list of events for the week. So make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom of this post. This week I am sharing some of my favorite places in my neighborhood, Lakeview. For future recommendations and reviews, look out for other neighborhood gems, where to celebrate Oktoberfest, what haunted houses to visit, save-the-dates, where to host your holiday party, and more.

Let me know what you think by sending me an email at katie@nowyouknowevents.com. Do you like the Weekly Roundup? Do you want it back every week? What would you like included? Please tell me so I can be sure to bring you what you want. Have an awesome week!

This Week: Neighborhood Spotlight – East Lakeview

Wrigley BBQ: You don’t need to go South to enjoy great barbecue. Wrigley BBQ located at 3555 N Broadway serves up Southern BBQ classics with delicious sides (think mac and cheese, cole slaw, fried pickles, etc) and they are BYOB. Their decor boasts simple southern charm with wooden signs and their food is as comforting as it gets. They just rolled out brunch a couple of months ago and I highly recommend checking it out. With sweet and savory options, there is something to satisfy everyone’s taste buds.

Brickhouse Tavern: This year Wrigleyville got some major updates including The Park at Wrigley with some stores and bars adjacent to the park. One of our favorites is the Brickhouse Tavern, named after famed sportscaster Jack Brickhouse. The Budweiser sports bar offers an elevated dining experience with four expansive bars, two outdoor terraces and stunning views of historic Wrigley Field and the Chicago skyline. It’s a great space to catch the next Cubs game with delicious eats and an expansive beer selection. You must order the Buffalo Chicken Waffle Cone. You will thank us later.

Urban Nail Spa: I almost don’t want to share this little gem with anyone but I love my readers so I am letting the cat out of the bag. Urban Nail Salon is my favorite spot for a pedicure and let me tell you why. The price is comparable to any other nail salon but there are so many extra perks you get here so it’s really a great bang for your buck. Each customer gets to choose an herbal scrub that is massaged into your legs and feet followed by a quick rinse then an essential oil leg and foot massage. There is also gentle kneading with hot stones on your calves and a hot towel wrapped around your feet. Wait, there’s more…. a paraffin wax wrap for your heels!

Pedicute: Another nail salon I know but there’s a good reason for it. This is where I go for my manicures and let me tell you why. I can get a regular manicure at this spot and it will last WEEKS! Say what! I am so serious. No need for no-chip manis anymore! My most recent manicure from Pedicute lasted almost 3 weeks without any chipping.
