Chicago Events – February 5-11, 2018

Happy Monday! How many of you are recovering from Super Bowl parties last night? Did your team win? What did you think of JT’s half-time performance? What was your favorite commercial? Message me or tell me in the comments below!

Now, who’s ready to kick off a new week despite the snow? I’ve got a few events to share with you and more great Chicago Valentine’s Day 2018 deals and happenings. Tonight is one of my favorite monthly events, Culinary Fight Club, which raises money for charity (specifically Fight 2 Feed to feed the homeless). I am hoping to be there if I can swing it after work between tutoring and volunteering.

Also, Friday night kicks off the Chicago Auto Show with the First Look for Charity! It’s one of the hottest events all year! Then the auto show will be open to the public until Monday, February 19 at McCormick Place. Check out all the details below and click links for full information.

Staytion Markey & Bar Brewery Experience – Staytion Market & Bar, located at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel, 1 W. Wacker Drive, is thrilled to announce its February Celebrate the Neighborhood Events including a performance from Chance the Rapper’s Violinist, special Chef’s dinners, and cooking classes (Feb. 23).  From 5p-p local Haymarket Brewery offers a few selections from their brew room while an expert from the brewery shared more on the story behind their beers.

Raised Bar Supper Club Series 2018 – Raised Bar Supper Club Series is an entertainment-filled dining experience complete with crafted cocktails to pair is sure to be a night not to miss in the Windy City! Raised Bar, 1 W. Wacker Drive, has announced the February installment of their popular new Supper Club Series on Saturday, February 10 from 4 p.m. until 12 a.m. Guests will enjoy live entertainment from Liza Micelli, a Chicago based pianist and composer, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. while dining on special menu items courtesy of Specialty Raised Chef Timothy Powles, curated to the music. VALENTINE”S DAY 2018 – Is anyone else feeling the love?

Lincoln Park‘s innovative Pizzeria Bebu is the perfect place for any pizza lover to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re a romantic couple on date night or a group of friends out for a great time, Bebu is a sure thing when it comes to a delicious dinner that evening. Bebu offers guests a special market pizza, the Caponata, available from now through Valentine’s Day with a tomato base, onions, garlic, golden raisins, capers, Kalamata olives, topped with roasted cauliflower, eggplant, parmesan, mozzarella and asiago cheese ($20). In addition to its one-of-a-kind thin-crust pies, Bebu will also be offering guests holiday wine and sparkling specials, including: Take Me Home Rosé for $30 a bottle (normally $56), Joseph Drouhin Morgon for $50 a bottle (normally $75), and2006 Moet & Chandon for $75 a bottle (normally $120). Katana, the Robatayaki-style concept located in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, offering signature skewers, innovative sushi and specialty cocktails is pulling out all the stops in celebrating the day of love. This Valentine’s Day (2/14), guests can experience a one-of-a-kind Seafood Tower for Two ($125) made with four pieces of oyster, one king crab leg, scallop sashimi, poached shrimp, akami sashimi, madai sashimi, Hamachi sashimi and three dipping sauces including Wasabi cocktail sauce, garlic ponzu and karashi aioli making it the perfect sharing experience for you and your loved one. Guests also have the option of including a specialty bottle of Sayuri Sake with the tower for an additional $25. Don’t forget to finish out the evening on something sweet with Katana’s special Red Velvet Volcano Cake ($15) dessert served with whipped cream and goat cheese ice cream.

The Hampton Social

The Chicago hotspot known for its East Coast-inspired vibes and playful atmosphere, is celebrating Cupid’s favorite day with a nod to the latest installation of the highly popular “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie series, “Fifty Shades Freed,” (set to arrive in theatres on Friday, February 9) with a special offering – Fifty Shades of Rosé.

For the entire day on Wednesday, February 14, guests can indulge in half-priced all bottles and glasses of rosé, $1 oysters and a chef’s special dessert, adding just a little bit of sweetness to the amorous holiday. The one-day-only promotion will be available at both the bustling River North location, as well as the recently opened location at the Burr Ridge Village Center.

Wrigley BBQ

Valentine’s Day is just two weeks away, and we’re working to position Wrigley BBQ as a cozy spot for low-maintenance couples looking to indulge without breaking the bank. Whether anxiously awaiting a first date or casually enjoying a meal where finger licking isn’t frowned upon, Chicagoans can rest easy knowing their Feb. 14 dinner plans are covered with a deliciously smoked three-course meal at Wrigley BBQ.

The restaurant is BYOB, and for just $40 couples can enjoy the following:

  • Appetizer: Wrigley BBQ is calming the mood with comfort food and kicking the night off right with a BBQ sampling that’s sure to spark playful small talk. With a choice of pulled pork or brisket nachos, 6 smoked or fried jumbo whole chicken wings or 3 meaty sliders, there’s plenty of options to tide couples over to the main course.
  • Surf & Turf Entrees: Diners have their choice of any two surf and turf entrees. From blackened or BBQ shrimp, smoked salmon, or scallops (surf) to beef or pork ribs, a smoked bone-in veal chop, and brisket, pulled pork and chicken platters (turf), these menu items are the epitome of ‘relationship goals.’
  • Dessert: Finish the evening with a choice of three desserts, including a bourbon bread pudding, s’mores pie and Mississippi mud cake to satisfy sweet tooth cravings.

Mi Tocaya

The restaurant will be offering a special four-course Valentine’s Day menu on Wednesday, February 14. The menu is available for $65, not inclusive of tax and gratuity. Items on the prix fixe menu are also available as a la carte for those diners not wanting to partake in the full menu. The full Valentine’s Day menu is listed below.

Additionally on Monday, February 26 at 6:30pm Mi Tocaya is partnering with Tequila Herradura for a special “Luck is Earned” dinner. For $55, inclusive of tax and gratuity, diners can indulge in four stations featuring delicious bites from acclaimed Chef Diana Davila paired with four varieties of tequila from Tequila Herradura. Adam Melberth of Herradura will be on site teaching a Tequila 101 educational class during the event.
