Santa Reserves His Suite at Swissôtel Chicago for 2017 Holiday Season

The Swissôtel Chicago today announced that after a summer vacationing on the island of Bermuda, sipping on Piña Coladas, at the Fairmont Southampton resort, Santa is ready to head back to work. Prepping for the busy season ahead, Father Christmas has booked the Presidential Suite on the hotel’s 41st floor as his official home-away-from-Pole this holiday season. As the secret has been out since 2014 that Mr. Claus’ favorite hotel is the Swissôtel Chicago, the Big Guy is yet again extending an open invitation to Chicago-area families and hotel guests to visit his extravagantly-decorated “Santa Suite,” free-of-charge, beginning Dec. 2.

Whether or not you’ve made it on the nice list this year, the Swissôtel Chicago Santa Suite will be open for elf-guided tours on select days and times from Dec. 2 through Dec. 22. A little elf let it slip that Santa Claus, himself, will also be in town from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on three Saturdays, Dec. 2Dec. 9 and Dec. 16, to greet children and pose for photos in his suite, as he checks in on official Christmas business in the Windy City. As Santa’s calendar is always subject to change, would-be visitors are encouraged to check the latest schedule at the Swissôtel’s Santa Suite event page, before leaving home.

While relaxing before the busy holiday season, Santa was feeling a bit nostalgic. Turns out the big guy caught island fever and while just like in year’s past where Santa’s reindeer and fellow legendary figures, like The Sandman and Cupid, have been invited to have a seat at the table, this year pinpoints to the one, the only Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Joining the most famous reindeer of all on Santa’s prestigious guest list this year are a few friends from Castaway Cove, or better known to children and adults alike, as the Island of Misfit Toys.

The Misfit Toys, including a train with square wheels, a Charlie-in-the-Box, a cowboy that rides an ostrich, a dolly for Sue and a spotted elephant, will be given the royal treatment, including a place setting for each, along with Mrs. Claus and Santa, at the Santa Suite’s magnificently-appointed dinner table. The royal treatment doesn’t stop there, the suite’s glorious Christmas trees will be decorated in their honor while the rest of the five-room Presidential Suite is completely transformed into a whimsical hideaway, complete with season décor, only fit for the Man of the Season.

There’ll be guided tours of the Santa Suite conducted by Santa’s certified elves, a letter-writing station for leaving holiday wish lists, complimentary treats, and a keepsake gift for all children on the “nice list.” New to this year, guests can stay like Santa does in elf-decorated rooms complete with a ‘milk and cookies’ amenity and a personalized note from Santa. Select rooms will be available for bookings throughout December.

As Santa has been experiencing some serious wanderlust, earning his hotel reward points is always a bonus. When not staying at his favorite hotel, the Swissôtel Chicago, or delivering toys, he can be found relaxing in his whimsical hideaway, the Santa Suite, at 11 other Accor Hotel properties throughout the world.

The Santa Suite is also available for private group tours and holiday receptions for up to 100 people. For additional information, call (312) 268-8235 or email chicago.events@swissotel.com.
