HotelSable Kitchen & Bar and Hotel Palomar 5 Year Anniversary
On March 24, Palomar and Sable will host a joint 5th anniversary party and unveil their newly refreshed spaces
Kimpton’s Hotel Palomar Chicago and Sable Kitchen & Bar will celebrate the excitement of their five year anniversaries on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 with a joint celebration that will pay homage to the acclaimed hotel and restaurant pair’s history, unveil two newly refreshed spaces in Palomar’s lobby and in Sable’s lounge and – most of all – thank loyal supporters since their 2010 opening with complimentary festivities from 5-7PM in both establishments.
Renovated Hotel Lobby
The recently renovated living room has transcended from an ethereal space to one that is more elaborate with refined graphics and pops of bold color. San Francisco based Orlando Diaz-Azcuy Design Associates (ODADA) addressed the need to reinvent the space for the hotel’s evolved clientele and fulfills the need to accommodate more guests. Once a more sedate environment, ODADA increased the drama of the space by adding color to the vertical entry points with red upholstered nail-head fabrics. A new focal point to the room is the LED brass chandelier which contains tiny thin brass rods of led glass lights that tie into the beloved string curtains in the space. Nearly doubling the number of seating, the new design provides more flexibility for guests by giving options for individual or group seating with the addition of a communal table. USB ports can be found not only in the communal table but throughout the seating area for easy access to plug in for personal or business use.
Designed by locally-based ESNY Design, Sable Kitchen & Bar recently refreshed its lounge, still evocative of 1940s Hollywood glam, to add a heightened level of comfort to its award-wining food and beverage experience. Metal-stemmed leather high tops are replaced with chocolate wood stems and earth-toned upholstered seats, each adorned with geometric leaf shapes that evoke an urban garden. An expansive banquette is embellished with a blend of striped beige hues and accents chestnut countertops. Overlooking State Street, a plush u-shaped booth with overhanging light fixture is now integrated into the space to accommodate large parties. The 40-foot bar is enhanced with the addition of a custom-designed wallpaper mural glazing the ceiling and an exposed wine service station boasting an oversized vertical wine display and white onyx marble backsplash. To accommodate guests on busier nights, a white onyx marble drink rail lines gray, patterned walls and sits opposite of a relaxing, sofa-style seating area. In addition to earth-toned hues and inviting textures, sheer drapes now adorn the floor to ceiling windows and soften the overall ambiance.
