Mi Tocaya Mezcal Dinner featuring Mezcal Unión

Mi Tocaya Antojería, the neighborhood Mexican restaurant from Chef Diana Dávila, will be hosting a series of Mezcal dinners this winter.

The first dinner will be held on Thursday, December 14 in conjunction with Mezcal Unión, a Mezcal producer from the Oaxaca region of Mexico. For $95 per person (inclusive of tax and gratuity) diners can indulge in a four-course meal designed by Chef Dávila. Each course will be paired with a tasting portion of Mezcal as well as a special cocktail featuring Mezcal, created by Mi Tocaya Beverage Director Ulises Martinez. 2 seatings, one at 6pm and one at 8pm, will be available.

“I want this to be more of an open conversation that just a typical dinner” says Dávila. “Mezcal has a really long and interesting history in Mexico and is a truly special drink that takes time to create properly so I want our guests to not only enjoy themselves but to also gain a greater appreciation for Mezcal itself.” A spokesperson from Mezcal Unión will be on site during the dinner to engage with guests and to provide some insight as to how Mezcal is traditionally produced, the sustainable farming practices they utilize to limit overproduction and how they work with the farmers who have been making Mezcal for generations.

Tickets for the December 14 dinner can be purchased via Eventbrite. Davila is currently working on a January date with Mezcales de Leyenda and plans on hosting more dinners with different Mezcal producers this Winter.
